Cross Country Hosts Fordham Fiasco

Bronx, N.Y. – (September 10, 2022) – The Fordham cross country team hosted the annual Fordham Fiasco Cross Country Meet at Van Cortlandt Park on Saturday morning with the Rams finishing third in both team competitions.
 
The men were off first with Temple taking the team title with 15 points, followed by Cornell in second (50) and Fordham in third (98).  Seton Hall (114), Mansfield (133), St. Josephs (LI) (173), and Fairleigh Dickinson (200) rounded out the field of teams.
 
Temple's Erik Kain was the individual winner, taking first place in 25:55.7 over the 8K course.
 
For Fordham, Ben Borchers and Justin Lombardi were the top runners, taking 18^th (27:40.2) and 19^th (27:40.4), respectively.  Matthew Febles was the next Ram across the line in 23^rd (27:55.7), followed by Trevor Rinn (31^st – 29:21.9), Anderson Baker (35^th – 29:45.7), Ryan Fahey (40^th – 30:51.9), and Jack Reilly (44^th – 32:20.6).
 
On the women's side, Temple also placed first with 28 points, just ahead of Cornell's 33 points.  Fordham was third with 84, followed by Seton Hall (91), Mansfield (134), St. Joseph's (LI) (186), and Fairleigh Dickinson (207).
 
Temple's Elvira Bredin won the 5K race with a time of 19:03.6.
 
For Fordham, the Rams had a pair of top 15 runners, led by Caroline McDonagh in seventh at 19:41.4 with Alexandra Thomas in 14^th at 19:57.7.  Madeleine Ryan placed 21^st in 20:09.6 with Taylor Mascetta in 25^th (20:25.1) and Nathania Tan in 36^th (21:00.0).  The remaining runners for Fordham were Marin Bogulski (37^th – 21:01.9), Clodagh McGroary (45^th – 21:55.0), Helen Moloney (48^th – 22:14.5), and Carolyn Cardell (49^th – 22:17.7).
 
The Rams will next be in action on Saturday, September 17^th, when they compete at the Jasper Fall XC Invite, held at Twin Ponds on the Farm in Montgomery, N.Y.
