Williamsburg, Va. – (April 1, 2022) – Friday was the start of the two-day Colonial Relays, hosted by William & Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia, and the Fordham track & field team got off to a good start, as the women are 19
th out of 34 teams with the men in 22
nd out of 34 teams.
The highlight of the day came early, as
Kathryn Kelly won the championship edition of the women's long jump with an ECAC qualifying mark of 19' 2". That event win accounted for all ten of Fordham's points in the team standings. Kelly would also finish 11
th in the championship event of the 200-meter dash in 24.99 seconds, as well as 14
th in the championship event of the 100-meter dash in 12.34 seconds.
Aside from Kelly, Fordham competed in a number of championship and university division events on day one.
Casey Metzler finished 11
th overall in the championship event of the women's hammer throw at 136' 2", while
Clodagh McGroary was 17
th in the 3,000-meter steeplechase championship with a time of 11:42.26.
Germaine Harbaugh was the top performer in the championship event of the 5,000-meter run, clocking in at 17:32.30 with
Dominique Valentine being the top Ram in the championship event of the 400-meter dash in 58.58 seconds and
Molly Mulvaney in the championship event of the 400-meter hurdles in 1:09.73.

In the university division events, Fordham's top performer was
Bridget Alex, who was second overall in the 1,500-meter run, finishing in a time of 4:41.84, while
Caroline McDonagh was ninth overall in the 3,000-meter run at 18:15.39.
On the men's side, Fordham's scoring came in the final event of the night, the championship event of the 10,000-meter run.
Brandon Hall scored fourth in an IC4A qualifying time of 30:04.37, while
Steven Zucca was sixth in an IC4A qualifying time of 30:07.21.
In other championship events, Fordham's top performer in the 100-meter dash was
Robert LeFevre, placing 38
th overall in 11.18 seconds, while
Chase Krug was 40
th in the 400-meter hurdles in a time of 1:01.85.
Erik Brown was then 45
th in the 400-meter dash in 52.16 seconds with
Colin Flood taking 20
th overall in the 5,000-meter run in 14:46.57.
In the university division event,
Justin Rhee had the top finish, taking fourth in the long jump at 21' 8", while
Patrick Tuohy matched that finish in the 800-meter run in 1:54.80.
Christopher Strzelinski was the top Ram in the 1,500-meter run in 4:00.32 with
Alec Wargo taking 10
th in the hammer throw with a personal-best mark of 134' 6".
The Colonial Relays wrap up on Saturday with events beginning at 9:30 AM.
