Stamford, Conn. – (February 8, 2022) – The Fordham squash team had a quick turnaround following their trip to Boston, as the Rams were back on the road Tuesday against Connecticut College at the Chelsea Piers in Stamford, Connecticut.
The match did not go the Rams' way falling by an 8-1 count to the Camels.
Fordham's lone point came from
Dylan Panichello, as he defeated Mike Achatz at seventh position in four games, 9-11, 11-9, 11-5, and 11-7.
The Rams had a chance to flip a couple of five-game matches but fell short.
Winthrop Reed IV was up two games to one in his fourth position match against Alex Lorenzo-Cruz, but Lorenzo-Cruz rallied to win the final two games, taking the match, 7-11, 11-5, 6-11, 11-4, and 11-7. Then at the eighth position,
Caleb Schumacher rallied from a two games to one deficit against Demetrius Iatridis to force a fifth game, but succumb by scores of 9-11, 11-8, 11-8, 8-11, and 11-9.
Henry Frawley also fell a bit short in his second slot match versus MD Jawad, dropping a three-game match, 12-10, 12-10, and 11-9.
The Rams are back in action on Saturday, February 12
th, with a pair of home matches against Bucknell at 11:00 AM and the Princeton Club Team at 7:00 PM.
