Philadelphia, Pa. – (February 18, 2022) – The Fordham squash team opened up play at 2022 CSA Team Championship on Friday, which is being held at the Arlen Specter U.S. Squash Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
The Rams had a rough first day, dropping both of their matches to Wesleyan and Hamilton by 9-0 scores.
Against Wesleyan, the Cardinals won seven of the nine matches in three games. The lone matches to go four games were at the first and second position.
Shanay Sanghavi topped Fordham's
Patrick Rodden at first position 11-8, 11-8, 8-11, and 11-5, while Abhinav Gutpa got past
Henry Frawley at the second slot, 11-7, 11-6, 10-12, and 11-5.
In match two, Hamilton won all nine matches in three games.
The closest match for the Rams, once again came from Rodden, falling at first position to Tate Suratt, 11-9, 11-7, and 11-6.
The Championship resumes on Saturday with two more matches for the Rams. Fordham takes on Vassar at 9:00 AM and Denison at 2:30 PM.
