Lehigh Box Score | UConn Box Score

Bronx, N.Y. – (February 13, 2022) – The Fordham squash team closed out the regular season with a pair of wins on Sunday before looking toward the CSA Team Championship next weekend in Philadelphia.

Fordham started Sunday with a 9-0 sweep of Lehigh, capturing all nine matches in three games.

Patrick Rodden led the way at first position with a win over George Bancroft, 11-3, 11-3, and 11-3, while Henry Frawley topped PJ Walsh at second position, 11-2, 11-2, and 11-6.  Justin George then captured a third slot win over Max Fern (11-5, 11-5, 11-7), followed by fourth and fifth position victories by Robert Cruikshank (11-7, 11-9, 12-10) and Winthrop Reed IV (11-7, 11-3, 11-4) over Shaan Singh and Matthew Wellstead, respectively.

The bottom part of the order continued their strong play this weekend with Sofia Arseniev defeating Sammy Schutz at sixth position (113, 11-2, 11-4), with Nicholas Choo taking down Luke Saviano at the seventh slot (11-3, 11-9, 11-3).  Dylan Panichello (11-3, 11-1, 11-3) and Caleb Schumacher (11-4, 11-2, 11-2) closed out with wins at the eighth and ninth slots over Ryder John Henry and Ben Hayes.

In match two, Fordham got by a shorthanded UConn squad, 8-1.

The Huskies only had five players, so the Rams began with a 4-0 lead due to default wins.  Fordham went on to win four of the five remaining matches, starting with Reed at second position over Ali Fadhil, 11-2, 11-2, and 11-0, while Panichello earned a third slot win over Arun Polumbaum, 11-4, 11-4, 11-3.

Schumacher then defeated Maya Collins, 11-3, 11-4, and 11-3, at fourth position with Aarav Jhunjhunwala getting the final victory at fifth position, 11-4, 11-3, and 12-10.

The Rams now turn their attention to the CSA Team Championship, which will be held February 18-20, at the Arlen Specter U.S. Squash Center in Philadelphia.
