Bronx, N.Y. – (February 12, 2022) – The Fordham squash team opened its final home weekend of action on Saturday, as the Rams will play four matches this weekend before looking toward the CSA Team Championship next weekend in Philadelphia.
Fordham opened the weekend with a split of matches on Saturday, beginning with a 5-4 loss to Bucknell.
With a 1-0 team lead courtesy of a default at the ninth slot, the bottom of the line-up played well for the Rams, winning three of four matches, starting with
Winthrop Reed IV taking down Teddy Donohue at the fifth slot in three games, 11-5, 11-2, and 11-4.
Sofia Arseniev followed with a sixth position win over Natty Dunn (11-7, 11-4, 6-11, 11-3) with
Nicholas Choo knocking off Tarquin Hanson at the seventh slot (11-8, 11-5, 11-9).
Fordham though could not get that decisive fifth point, as
Dylan Panichello was outlasted by Cameron Hill at the eighth slot in five games, 8-11, 5-11, 11-8, 11-6, and 11-7.
In match two, Fordham bounced back with a 7-2 victory over the Penn Club Team.
