Hans Zdolsek (Linkoping, Sweden) added another piece of hardware to the trophy case this week. Zdolsek was named the 2021 Swedish Men's Water Polo Player of the Year, presented by the Swedish Swim Federation, Svensk Simidrott.
Svensk Simidrott honored athletes in swimming, diving, water polo, and coaching for their 2021 season.
An ACWPC Honorable Mention All-American, Zdolsek received First Team All-MAWPC East for the second straight season in 2021 and was the first Ram to be named the Most Valuable Player of the MAWPC East after a superb all-around season for the nationally ranked Rams.
Zdolsek was then the Most Outstanding Player of the MAWPC Championship, which Fordham won for the first time in team history, earning a berth in the NCAA Championship. He finished the year with 47 goals, 38 assists, 43 steals, and a team-best 19 blocks. His 47 goals tied for fourth on the team with 12 coming on the man-advantage, which was fourth on the squad.
