Annapolis, Md. – (November 12, 2022) – Day two of the Navy Round Robin is in the books and the Fordham squash team posted two wins on Saturday, improving the team record to 7-2 on the season.
Fordham opened day two with an early morning 6-3 win over Bucknell.
Henry Frawley posted the top win at third position, coming back from two games down to defeat David Hizrot in five games, 9-11, 6-11, 11-5, 12-10, and 11-3.
The Rams then swept the final five matches in the order from fifth position to ninth.
Bennett Van Liew won his fifth slot match over Harrison Sotir, 11-5, 11-4, 11-9, while
Jack Stanley topped Will Vincent at the sixth slot 11-7, 11-8, and 13-11.
Sofia Arseniev (7
th – 11-2, 11-2, 11-4),
Robert Cruikshank (8
th – 11-4, 11-8, 11-4), and
Nicholas Choo (9
th – 11-0, 11-4, 11-3) rounded out the Fordham win.
In match two of the day, Fordham shut out the Navy Club, who only had five players.
Adham Nassar earned a first position win over Alexandre Toner in three games, 11-4, 11-4, and 11-8, while Arseniev moved up to second position and defeated Alexander Hoot, 11-3, 11-1, and 11-0.
Cruikshank played third position, taking down Sam Anglen, 11-2, 11-6, and 11-0, with Choo earning a fourth position win over Ethan Borst, 11-4, 11-4, and 11-3. Van Liew picked up his second win of the day in fifth position, defeating George Ahl, 11-6, 11-4, and 11-5.
The Rams wrap up the weekend with a match against Denison on Sunday at 10:00 AM.
