Bronx, N.Y. – (November 11, 2022) – Behind four goals from Baptiste Oliveri, the #20 St. Francis Brooklyn Terriers ended the #18 Fordham Rams school record 15-game win streak on Friday night by a 14-11 score at the Col. Francis B. Messmore Aquatic Center.
It was an extremely physical contest with six penalties and 17 exclusions between the two teams.
The Terriers led 3-2 after the first quarter, as Adonis Vlassis scored with two seconds left in the period to give St. Francis Brooklyn the lead.
The Terriers expanded the lead to three at 8-5 by halftime with the Rams pulling within two by the end of the third quarter at 11-9, as
Luca Silvestri netted his second goal of the game with seven seconds left.
St. Francis Brooklyn though was able to outscore Fordham in the final quarter 3-2 for the 14-11 final.
For Fordham,
Jacopo Parrella netted a game-high four goals, while Silvestri and
Balazs Berenyi each had two.
Lucas Nieto Jasny,
Nacho Ariste, and
Gabriel Melillo each had one tally for the final goal scorers for the Rams. In net,
Thomas Lercari made 11 saves to go with a steal and an assist.
Fordham will now set their sights on the MAWPC Championship, which will be held as the Messmore Aquatic Center, November 18-20. The Rams' first game with be at 4:20 PM on Friday, November 18
th, against the winner of the McKendree-Gannon match.
