Milford, Conn. – Fordham golf got off to a solid start at the SHU Fall Classic at Great River Golf Club on Sunday, finished the day third out of eight schools, led by Nicholas Manning's 2-under 70 to sit in a share of fourth. The hosts, Sacred Heart, currently lead the field at a combined 1-over 289, while Fairfield's Colin Summers tops the individual leaderboard at 5-under.
 
Manning carded a group-high four birdies on the day as opposed to a pair of bogeys and was one of just seven golfers under par. P.J. O'Rourke was right behind him at even par in a share of eighth, trading three birdies with three bogeys. Jake Mrva was the lone golfer on the day to finish at 2-over, alone in 13^th, battling back from a tough start with three birdies.
 
Andreas Aivazoglou, T28 at 6-over, and John Kryscio, T34 at 7-over, each with two birdies, rounded out the scoring, while Chris Konefal, competing as an individual, finished 10-over.
