Stony Brook, N.Y. – (September 4, 2021) – The Fordham cross country teams began their 2021 season on Saturday morning at the Stony Brook Invitational with the Rams finishing fourth in the women's competition while the men were fifth.
Columbia took first in the women's team competition with a score of 26 points, followed by Quinnipiac (50), Stony Brook (62), Fordham (119), LIU (133), and Sacred Heart (160). Individually, Stony Brook's Fiona McLoughlin was first across the line in the 4K race at 14:03.80.

For Fordham,
Bridget Alex was the top performer, taking 15
th overall in a time of 14:59.60, while
Taylor Mascetta was the next Ram across the line in 15:20.80, good for 29
th.
Caroline McDonagh was 33
rd in the race at 15:24.20 with
Madeleine Ryan in 36
th (15:25.90) and
Germaine Harbaugh in 41
st (15:41.60). Other Rams running on Saturday were
Marin Bogulski (53
rd – 16:09.00),
Nathania Tan (59
th – 16:44.10), Emmy Longmore (63
rd – 16:49.80),

On the men's side, it was Stony Brook in first place with a score of 24 points, followed by Columbia (47), Boston College (61), Quinnipiac (134), Fordham (149), LIU (151), and Sacred Heart (186). Individually, it was another Stony Brook runner first across the line, as Robert Becker posted the winning time of 19:06.50 over the 6K course.
For Fordham,
Steven Zucca had the best time of the day, clocking in at 19:41.70, which was good for 13
th overall.
Rodolfo Sanchez was the next Ram runner over the line in 21
st place (20:04.80), while
Justin Lombardi was 48
th (21:00.90) with
Ryan Fahey in 60
th (21:46.00). Also running on Saturday was
John Arvantides in 70
th place (22:43.70) and Jack O'Connell in 72
nd (23:00.30).
The Rams are back in action on Saturday, September 11
th, when they host the Fordham Fiasco at Van Cortlandt Park.
