Montgomery, N.Y. – (September 25, 2021) – The Fordham cross country team were back in action on Saturday morning at the Jasper XC Fall Invite, held at Twin Ponds on the Farm in Montgomery, N.Y. the Rams had a successful day, as the men placed first in the team competition, while the women were fifth.
Fordham took the top spot in the men's varsity competition with a score of 45 points, followed by Rider (58), Manhattan (71), American (76), and Marist (93).
Brandon Hall led the way for the Rams, as he won the 8K race in 25:09.7, followed by teammate
Steven Zucca in third (25:19.4) and
Colin Flood in ninth (25:58.8).
Ryan Fahey was the next Ram across the line in 16
th (26:20.7) with
Rodolfo Sanchez in 18
th (26:24.3),
Daniel Asher in 40
th (27:07.3),
Justin Lombardi in 42
nd (27:10.4), and
Christopher Strzelinski in 53rd (27:42.6).
Over in the women's varsity race, Rider won the team competition with Fordham coming in fifth.

For Fordham,
Bridget Alex was the Rams' top finisher, placing 11
th overall in 22:50.6 over the 6K course, while
Maddy Kopec was 13
th (22:54.6) and
Taylor Mascetta in 19
th (23:17.7).
Marin Bogulski (29
th – 24:02.4) and
Germaine Harbaugh (31
st – 24:05.3) rounded out the five scoring runners for the Rams.
Additionally, there were also college division races for the men and women.
For the women, Fordham's
Nathania Tan took first in the college division with a time of 23:58.9 over the 6K course, while
Emmy Longmore was third in 24:54.3.
Helen Moloney (25:44.7),
Clodagh McGroary (26:18.4), and
Carolyn Cardell (26:36.0) also competed for the Rams.
In the men's college race,
Samuel Wilcox took second in the 8K race in a time of 27:07.2, while
Jack O'Connell was 12
th (29:57.2) and
John Arvantides took 15
th (30:24.6).
Fordham will next be racing at the 2021 Metropolitan Cross Country Championship, hosted at Van Cortlandt Park on Friday, October 8
th.
