Galloway, N.J. – (April 2, 2021) – The Fordham track & field team took part in its second meet of the outdoor season on Friday at the Stockton Invitational, held at G. Larry James Stadium in Galloway, New Jersey. It was a great day for Fordham, as the Rams posted 13 event wins as well as nine runner-up finishes.
In the women's competition, both Fordham relay teams came away with first place finishes, as the 4x100 group of
Ruby Avila,
Skylar Harris,
Jade Dyer-Kennedy, and
Kyla Hill clocked in at 50.86 seconds, while the 4x400 team of
Michele Daye,
Mary Kathryn Underwood,
Abigail Llach, and
Jilli Jones won in a season-best time of 4:14.65.

On top of the relay wins, Hill, Harris, and Dyer-Kennedy each added an individual event win to their ledger. Hill won the 100-meter dash in a season-best time of 12.82 seconds, while Harris took the top spot in the long jump with a season-best mark of 18' 4". Dyer-Kennedy also won in the field events taking first in the triple jump at 34' 11 ¾", which was also a season-best.
Another women's event winner was
Taylor Mascetta in the 800-meter run, leading a pack of Rams with a time of 2:26.17. Jones was runner-up in the 800 meters right behind Mascetta at 2:26.18, as was Llach in third (2:26.77), Underwood in fourth (2:27.92), and
Maeve O'Connor in fifth (2:29.08).
Sarinnagh Budris also won her individual event, taking the 400-meter dash in 1:01.71, while Daye was second on 1:03.50.
Other highlights included
Bridget Alex finishing second in the 1,500-meter run (4:52.88) with
Tara Coyne taking second in the high jump (4' 9").

Over on the men's side,
Arthur Gooden Jr. and
Zalen Nelson led the way with both an individual and relay win. They joined
Jeremiah LaDuca and
Patrick Tuohy on the winning 4x400 relay that ran 3:27.49, while individually, Gooden took the top spot in the 400 meters at 51.59, while Nelson grabbed first in the 800 meters in 1:57.69. Tuohy and LaDuca also ran in the 800 meters finishing second (1:58.84) and third (1:59.40), respectively.
Jack Craven and
Will Whelan added to the events wins, as Craven posted a winning time of 10:18.81 in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, while Whelan was first in the 1,500 meters at 4:03.50.
Sean Sullivan was right behind Whelan, placing second in 4:04.32.
Other top running performances were from
Chase Krug, who was second in the 400-meter hurdles (1:02.28),
Michael Capone, who was second in the 200-meter dash (23.28),
Robert LeFevre, who was third in the 100-meter dash (11.98), and
Ryan Fahey, who was fourth in the 5,000 meters (16:26.46).
In the field events,
Justin Rhee won the triple jump with a mark of 42' 1 ¼", while being second in the long jump at 20' 7 ¾".
Alec Wargo also had a pair of top five finishes, taking fourth in the discus (115' 7 ½") and fifth in the hammer throw (131' 7 ½").
The Rams are next in action on April 9-10, as they take part in the Metropolitan Championship at Ichan Stadium on Randall's Island.
