Bethlehem, Pa. – The Fordham golf team returned to action after several weeks off with day one of the Lehigh Invitational on Friday at Saucon Valley Country Club. The Rams finished the day 11
th out of 14 schools, led by
Nicholas Manning, whose 77 was good for T26 heading to day two. Siena holds the team lead at 292, but Harvard's Brian Ma is the individual leader at 3-under.
Manning birdied one hole, the par-4 13
th and 11 pars.
Andreas Aivazoglou carded a 79 but co-led the squad with a pair of birdies, the first hole on the front nine and back nine. Tied for that lead in birdies was Jake Mrva, making his Fordham debut and sitting in a share of 50
th with an opening 80. Beyond those two were
P.J. O'Rourke and
John Kryscio each T55 with 81's.
The second and final round of the Lehigh Invitational will begin in the morning.
