Princeton, N.J. – (October 16, 2021) – The Fordham cross country team had their final tune-up race before the Atlantic 10 Championship on Saturday, as they ran at the highly-competitive Princeton Invitational in New Jersey.
The field featured teams from across the country, including Princeton, Dartmouth, Columbia, Boston University, Mississippi State, UC San Diego, Villanova, Temple, and Davidson.
The Rams had a good showing in the team standings with the women placing 14
th out of a 21-team field, while the men were 10
th out of 21 teams.
Princeton took the women's team title with a team score of 39, followed by Dartmouth (99), Boston University (117), Stony Brook (124), and Monmouth (205) to round out the top five.
There was a healthy contingent of Atlantic 10 teams in attendance as well with George Mason in sixth (207), La Salle in seventh (208), Massachusetts in eighth (222), Fordham in 14
th (389), and Saint Joseph's in 20
th (534).

Individually, Princeton's Fiona Max paced the field over the 6K course with a winning time of 21:16.4, which was six seconds ahead of second place finisher Sammi Ragenklint of Monmouth (21:22.6).
For Fordham,
Bridget Alex was the top performer, placing 51
st overall in 23:13.4, while
Madeleine Ryan was 76
th overall in 23:43.4.
Nicoleta Papavasilakis was the next Ram across the line in 24:06.6 (95
th), followed by
Taylor Mascetta (104
th – 24:18.9),
Germaine Harbaugh (110
th – 24:22.0),
Maddy Kopec (131
st – 25:01.2),
Nathania Tan (140
th – 25:23.5), and
Marin Bogulski (152
nd – 25:45.0).
In the men's competition, Villanova earned the team title with 32 points, with Stony Brook in second (65), Columbia in third (100), George Mason in fourth (158), and Temple in fifth (161).
Aside from George Mason, other Atlantic 10 teams competing on Saturday were Fordham in tenth (301), Davidson in 11
th (315), Saint Joseph's in 12
th (341), Massachusetts in 13
th (374), and La Salle in 14
th (389).
Individually, it was Villanova's Haftu Strintzos pacing the 8K course in 24:05.2, just ahead of second place finisher Joe Arthur of Temple (24:07.7).
Brandon Hall was Fordham's top finisher as he took home a top-20 spot, placing 19
th overall in 24:55.0.
Steven Zucca was the next Ram across the line, taking 51
st overall in 25:34.6, followed by
Rodolfo Sanchez in 80
th (25:55.7) and
Colin Flood in 88
th (25:58.8). Finishing out the Fordham competitors were

th, at the Elvin R. King XC Course in Cedarville, Ohio.
