Gabelli's gift is the largest donation in the University's history; Fordham Athletics congratulates Joseph M. McShane, S.J., and the development office on this monumental gift.
Â
With a recent $35 million commitment to Fordham, Mario Gabelli, a 1965 graduate of the school that now bears his name, and his wife, Regina Pitaro, a 1976 graduate of Fordham College at Rose Hill, continued their longstanding generosity to Fordham. Their latest gift is the largest donation in the University's history—exceeding their own $25 million gift in 2010. Gabelli and Pitaro hope to inspire other alumni and friends to invest in Fordham students. They will match, dollar for dollar, up to $7 million for merit awards for MBA and Ph.D. students.

Since Fordham wrapped up its
Faith & Hope Campaign in 2019, the University has been transitioning to a new campaign dedicated to enhancing the overall student experience.
Â
The centerpiece of the campaign will be a new campus center at Rose Hill which will directly improve our athletics facilities and student-athlete experience. The new center is currently under construction and is scheduled to be completed in 2025.
Â
In addition to the new campus center, athletics be a central priority for the overall campaign as one of six main pillars.
Â
"We are excited about the future of Fordham athletics," said interim director of athletics
Ed Kull. "This inclusion in the University's campaign continues our forward-thinking momentum and ensures we will build a strong and sustainable future for Fordham athletics. Our athletics programs are a great source of pride for the University, alumni, fans, and the New York City area and we look forward to uniting in partnership with University stakeholders and the larger Ram community behind us."
Â
The new campaign is still being finalized and more details will be announced at a later date.
