Fordham Assistant Coach Eleri Earnshaw Named to MAAC 40th Anniversary Women’s Soccer Team

Earnshaw Earned All-MAAC honors three times at Iona College

Edison, N.J. – (September 4, 2020) – Similar to the Atlantic 10 Conference celebrating its 45th anniversary, one of the Fordham Rams' former conference affiliates, the MAAC, is celebrating its 40th anniversary and releasing anniversary teams for the sports the conference sponsors.

Recently, the women's soccer team was released, and though Fordham did not compete in the MAAC for women's soccer, the Rams still had a tie-in, as current assistant coach Eleri Earnshaw was selected to the 40th anniversary team for her playing days at Iona College.

Earnshaw played three seasons as a center back for the Gaels, earning a spot on the All-MAAC team three times from 2004-06, one of only four Gaels to record that feat.  She is also one of two Gaels to earn All-MAAC First Team honors twice.

From her backline position, Earnshaw recorded four goals and four assists for the Gaels and was an integral part of one of the team's stingiest defenses in 2004, which allowed only six goals to MAAC opponents.
