Rams use two first half goals to pick up A10 win

Bronx, N.Y. – The Fordham women's soccer team saved its best for last. Playing their final regular season home game at Moglia Stadium, the Rams played a complete game, scoring two first-half goals and then playing a solid defense to shut out George Washington, 2-0, on Sunday.

The Rams opened the game putting pressure on the Revolutionaries defense. Fordham got on the board in the 22nd minute when junior Julia Acosta was taken down in the box and she converted the penalty kick to give the Rams a 1-0 lead.

Seven minutes later, senior Salma Simonin stole the ball from a George Washington defender and went in on goal, beating the keeper to the far post from 15 yards to give the Rams a 2-0 lead.

Fordham junior keeper Addison Green made the 2-0 hold up, making both of her saves in the second half.
