Bronx, N.Y. – With no live games occurring this semester, Fordham University Athletics has entered the world of esports, with the Rams joining Learfield's new Level Next competition and being well represented at the Atlantic 10 Rocket League Tournament, held last Friday and Saturday, advancing three teams to the league-wide competition.
Fordham will participate in the new Learfield initiative called Level Next, a new free college esports league that launched last week. Level Next is EA's exclusive partner for college leagues and registration is now open for the first tournament which will feature Madden NFL 21.

All Fordham students are eligible. The top four Fordham finishers will qualify for the chance to compete for $150K in Level Next Championship prize money.
Fordham esports Rocket League Tournament qualifier presented by Ridgewood Savings Bank/Atlantic 10 Rocket League Tournament
The Fordham esports Rocket League Tournament qualifier presented by Ridgewood Savings Bank was held on October 26 and 27 to determine who would go on to represent the Rams in the A-10 Rocket league Tournament. Fordham had 14 teams compete in its tournament, the second most number of teams/players out of the eight participating Atlantic 10 schools.
Impact defeated Jaden, 4-0, in the Fordham championship game, which was streamed on Twitch, to win $600 worth of Applebee's gift cards in conjunction with the Applebee's of Fordham Plaza. By advancing to the Fordham championship game, Impact and Jaden both automatically advanced to the Atlantic 10 Rocket League Tournament where they were joined by TheAbyssWalkers, an at-large selection.
Impact, Jaden, and TheAbyssWalkers all competed in the first round on Friday with Impact advancing to the quarterfinals later in the day where it fell to the GMU A team which would go on to win the championship.
