Bronx, N.Y. – (January 19, 2020) – The Fordham squash team, once again playing without the services of a couple of players, put up a strong fight against Hobart College on Sunday morning at the Lombardi Squash Courts but came up short by a 7-2 final.
Fordham is now 14-9 on the year.
Fordham's wins came at the fifth and seventh slots from
Dylan Panichello and
Caleb Schumacher. Panichello defeated Hobart's Quran Davis in five games, 11-8, 8-11, 11-9, 1-11, and 11-7, while Schumacher took down Charlie Beal in five games, 11-7, 7-11, 11-3, 8-11, and 11-8.
The Rams almost flipped the match at the first and positions, as
Griffin Fitzgerald fell to Quinn Udy at first position in four games, 11-5, 11-5, 5-11, and 13-11, with
Jacob Bennett succumbing to Eric Molina at sixth position in four games, 11-5, 5-11, 11-9, and 11-3.
The Fordham squash team will next be in action on Saturday, January 25
th as the team hosts Bucknell at 1:00 PM.
