Patriot League Release
 
Bronx, N.Y. - Fordham sophomore linebacker Ryan Greenhagen and junior kicker Andrew Mevis were named Patriot League Defensive and Special Teams Player of the Week, respectively, it was announced today. It is the first weekly honor of the season for each.
 
In a 29-14 win at Bryant on Saturday, Greenhagen led the Fordham defense with ten total tackles, seven solo, including one for loss. He helped the Fordham defense hold the Bulldogs to 238 yards of total offense, just 40 in the fourth quarter when the Rams scored 23 unanswered points.
 
On the season, Greenhagen leads the Rams with 30 total tackles, 17 solo, including 4.0 for loss, both second best in the Patriot League.
 
Mevis accounted for eleven of the 29 Fordham points on Saturday with three field goals and two extra points. He connected on a 30-yard and 27-yard field goal in the first half as the Rams trailed 7-6 at the break and then booted a 42-yarder with ten minutes remaining to start the Fordham comeback.
 
Mevis also punted five times for 185 yards (37.0 yards/punt) with three landing inside the 20, and kicked off seven times with six touchbacks.
 
On the year, Mevis has made four of his five field goals and all seven of his PATs, leading the Patriot League in field goals/game. He is also averaging 40.5 yards/punt and 60.3 yards/kickoff, with 13 touchbacks on 18 kicks.
 
The Rams return to action on Saturday, September 21, as they travel out to Long Island to face the Stony Brook University Seawolves at 6:00 p.m.
