Bronx, N.Y. - The Fordham University Rams continue their 2019 season, Fordham's 119th varsity season, by traveling to Smithfield, R.I., to face the Bryant University Bulldogs in the David M. '85 and Terry Beirne Stadium Complex on Saturday, September 14, at 1:00 p.m.
Â
The game will be streamed live on NEC Front Row with Tristan Hobbes (p-b-p) and Tim Lynch (color) announcing and broadcast live on WFUV (90.7 FM) and wfuvsports.org with Dominic Capone (p-b-p), Devin Clementi (color) and Jackson Heil (sidelines) handling the announcing chores.
Â
Fordham enters the game with a 0-2 record, following a 57-29 loss at Ball State University last Saturday in Muncie, while Bryant is also 0-2 on the year, following a 45-3 loss at Albany last week.
Â
This will be the fifth meeting between Fordham and Bryant on the gridiron with the Bulldogs leading the all-time series, 3-1. Bryant took the past two meetings, including a 42-41 win on Jack Coffey Field last October 20 as Luke Samperi connected on a 42-yard field goal on the final play of the game and Price Wilson completed 30 of 51 passes for 380 yards and two touchdowns for the Bulldogs.
Â
A few notes on the game:
Â
• Junior linebacker
Glenn Cunningham has 33.5 career tackles for loss, sixth all-time at Fordham.
Â
• Last year. Fordham ranked last in the NCAA FCS in rushing yards/game, averaging just 50.7 yards/contest.
Â
• Through two games in 2019, the Rams are averaging 147.5 yards/game on the ground, second best among Patriot League schools.
Â
• The 2019 Fordham Rams are a young squad, with just eight seniors on the roster.
Â
• Only two of those seniors started the first game of the year (captains
Joe Ferraro and
Jesse Bramble).
Â
• The Fordham captains for 2019 are senior defensive backs
Jesse Bramble and
James Biggs-Frazier, and senior wide receiver
Joe Ferraro.
 Â
• No New York area football team has won more games since 2012 than Fordham, who has amassed 52 victories over that stretch. The closest collegiate competitors are Stony Brook (48), Sacred Heart (44) and Rutgers (35), while the NFL's Giants have 47 wins over the past six years and the Jets have 42.
