Bronx, N.Y. - The CWPA's Mid-Atlantic Water Polo Conference (MAWPC) weekly awards were released on Tuesday with Fordham sophomore goalie
Bailey O'Mara (Darien, Conn./Darien) taking Defensive of the Week honors. This is O'Mara's first weekly award of the year.
The Rams opened the 2019 season at the Navy Invitational on Saturday and Sunday, going 3-1 at the tournament with wins over Iona, La Salle, and Austin College, and a loss to second-ranked UCLA.
O'Mara made ten saves in a 15-7 win over Iona, playing 3.5 quarters, and then recorded six saves and had two steals and one assist in 3.75 quarters in the win over La Salle. He wrapped up his weekend making eight saves and notching two steals in the Austin College win.
In addition to O'Mara's award, senior driver
Jake Miller-Tolt was named to the MAWPC Weekly Honor Roll after scoring 12 goals and adding six assists at the Navy Invitational. His top game came against Austin College when he tallied six goals.
The Rams return to action on Saturday, September 14, as they compete in the Princeton Invitational in Princeton, N.J. Fordham opens with a match against Santa Clara on the 14th at 7:15 p.m.
