Bronx, N.Y. – They come from Staten Island to California. One is a two-year starter, one a former walk-on turned scholarship player and one missed most of last season with an injury. But seniors
James Biggs-Frazier,
Jesse Bramble, and
Joe Ferraro all have one thing in common. They will serve as 2019 Fordham football captains.
Â
Bramble, a 2019 preseason All-Patriot League selection, made 39 total tackles, 31 solo, and recorded four interceptions, nine pass breakups, and two quarterback hurries in 2018. He led the team in interceptions and was second in pass breakups and was second in the Patriot League, and 23rd in the NCAA FCS, in passes defended/game (1.18).
Â
Over his three-year career, Bramble has 85 total tackles, 68 solo, along with 14 pass breakups and four interceptions.
Â
Ferraro, who was awarded with a full scholarship last summer, started all eleven games at wide receiver as a junior. He finished with 13 receptions for 144 yards (11.1 yards/catch).
Â
Biggs Frazier, who only saw action in two games last fall before suffering a season-ending injury, returns for a fifth year in 2019. He looks to build on his 2017 season where he appeared in all eleven games in the defensive backfield and on special teams, recording 20 total tackles, eleven solo, including 2.5 for loss and 0.5 sacks and also recording two pass breakups.
