Bronx, N.Y. – As the second week of the 2019 Fordham football fall camp begins we continue our position-by-position breakdown of the Rams with a look at the offensive line.
Â
Last fall, the Fordham line paved the way for an offense that led the Patriot League in passing offense, averaging 200.7 passing yards/game. However, two starters from that line graduated, leaving the Rams looking for someone to step up and fill the positions.
Â
Leading the returning linemen is junior
Nick Zakelj, a second team All-Patriot League selection last year when he started all eleven games at left tackle.
Â
Also back is sophomore
Austin Glazier, who appeared in ten games as a freshman, starting eight at right guard and one at left guard, and sophomore
Phil Saleh, who saw action in ten games as a freshman, starting nine at right tackle.
Â
Returning juniors include
Will Conley, who missed the 2018 season due to injury after appearing in four games as a freshman; and
Jake Trautman, who appeared in four games last fall, starting one at left guard and one at right tackle.
Â
Also back are sophomores
Anthony Marinelli, who saw action in two games as a freshman after an All-State career at DePaul Catholic High School in Wayne, N.J.;
Kyle Rinsky, who did not see action as a freshman after earning All-Conference honors at Hanover Park High School in East Hanover, N.J.;
Fox Fay, who moves from tight end to offensive line in 2019; and
Gabriel Jacques, who did not see action as a freshman after being a two-time All-District lineman at Ridge Point High School in Missouri City, Texas.
Â
Newcomers to the line include freshmen
Wyatt Klawiter, a 2018 First Team All-District selection at Coppell High School in Coppell, Texas;
Lucas Portes, who was named one of the Top 40 recruits in Maryland by Rivals at Good Counsel High School in Olney, Maryland;
Giovanni Potente, a 2018 Third Team All-State selection at Pope John XXIII High School in Sparta Township, N.J.;
Ryan Joyce, a product of Hunterdon Central High School in Flemington, N.J.;
Aiden McCarty, a transfer from William & Mary, and
