Fordham Football Recognized for Outstanding Academic Progress Rate

Rams record highest and most improved APR in Patriot League

FCS ADA Release

ORLANDO, Fla. – The Fordham University football squad was one of 24 NCAA FCS programs to be honored by the Football Championship Subdivision Athletics Directors Association (FCS ADA) during the FCS ADA Luncheon sponsored by Borden Perlman Insurance Agency, on Monday, June 10 in conjunction with the 2019 NACDA Convention at the World Center Marriott in Orlando, Florida.

The Rams were honored for both having the highest Academic Progress Rate (APR) and the most improved APR score among all Patriot League schools. Fordham was just one of two NCAA FCS programs to be tops in both categories.

"This is a terrific honor for the Fordham football program," said head coach Joe Conlin, "It is a true team award and we couldn't have done it without the tremendous support of the academic advising office, especially our academic MVP, Sister Anne Walsh."

Last month, the football program was one of eight Fordham University athletic teams publicly recognized by the NCAA for their latest APR score, posting multi-year APR scores in the top 10 percent of all squads in their respective sports.

Fordham will open the 2019 football season on Saturday, August 31, as the Rams host Central Connecticut State University on Jack Coffey Field at 6:00 p.m.
