Tucson, Ariz. – (May 30, 2019) - The
Collegiate Baseball NCAA Division I All-American baseball teams and National Player of The Year, powered by Diamond, were announced on Thursday. Among the honorees, Fordham sophomore
John Stankiewicz was named Third Team All-American.
Stankiewicz is Fordham's first baseball All-American since Mike Marchiano in 1997.

The Cherry Hill, N.J. native was the 2019 Atlantic 10 Pitcher of the Year and a First Team All-Atlantic 10 selection, helping the Rams to their first conference title and first NCAA appearance since 1998. Stankiewicz recorded a team-high eight wins to go with a 1.21 ERA and 102 strikeouts in 89.1 innings. He has walked only 15 batters this season and is holding opponents to a .186 batting average. He is fourth Ram ever to record 100 strikeouts in a season, and currently ranks third on the Fordham single season list behind only Dick Egan (107 – 1909) and Hank Borowy (115 – 1939).
A three-time Atlantic 10 Pitcher of the Week this season, he ranks second in the NCAA in ERA, behind only Greensboro's Chad Sykes (0.96), while being fourth in WHIP (0.83), eighth in strikeout-to-walk ratio (6.80), and 24
th in hits allowed per nine innings (5.94).
Stankiewicz is penciled in as Fordham's starter on Friday night against #15 West Virginia to open the Morgantown Regional. Game time is set for 8:00 PM and can be seen on
