Princeton, N.J. – (April 20, 2019) – While the rest of the team was on Long Island at Stony Brook's Wolfie Invitational, five members of the Fordham track & field team took on the challenge of Princeton's Larry Ellis Invitational in New Jersey.
Though weather delayed action from Friday to Saturday, there were excellent runs by the Rams, including two season-best performances from
Brian Cook and
Aidan Moroz, while
Laurel Fisher posted a top ten finish in the steeplechase.
The day began with Moroz in the women's 800 elite run event, where she finished 16
th overall, bettering her ECAC qualifying time with a season-best performance of 2:10.09. Then in the men's 800 elite run,
Louis Santelli placed 37
th in the event with a time of 1:54.64.
Next was the women's 3,000 meter steeplechase, where
Laurel Fisher finished eighth in the event with a time of 10:45.72.
Lastly, the women's 1500 meters saw
Katarzyna Krzyzanowski take 54
th overall in 4:46.47, while in the Mike Brady men's 1500 meter elite run had
Brian Cook place 18
th in an IC4A qualifying time of 3:49.85.
The Fordham track & field team now sets their sights on the Penn Relays next weekend in Philadelphia.
