Fairfax, Va. – (February 23, 2019) – Day one of the Atlantic 10 Indoor Track & Field Championship is in the books at Mason Field House in Fairfax, Virginia. It was a good first day for the Fordham women's track & field team, as they sit in tenth place through six events, having scored in two on day one, while qualifying for four finals on Sunday.
Highlighting the day, the women's distance medley relay, which set the school record last weekend, did it again on Saturday. This time, the team of
Laurel Fisher Sarinnagh Budris,
Aidan Moroz, and
Katarzyna Krzyzanowski clocked in at 11:44.06, which was good for a second place finish and a silver medal.

Also scoring on day one was
Kathryn Kelly, who placed seventh overall in the long jump event with a mark of 18' 5 ¼".
Kelly was also one of four individuals to qualify for Sunday finals, as she placed second in the 200-meter dash in a season-best time of 24.88 seconds. She almost made a second final in the 60-meter dash, but fell short in ninth place at 7.75 seconds.
Moroz and Budris both qualified for the finals of the 500-meter run. Moroz was fifth in the preliminaries at 1:15.58, while Budris was eighth in 1:16.43.
Kate McCormack was Fordham's final qualifier for a Sunday final in the 1000-meter run, as she posted a time of 2:57.99, good for sixth in the preliminaries.
Other top performers on day on included
Angelina Grebe in the 5,000 meter run, as she was 12
th in a season-best time of 17:26.45, while
Sydney Snow was also 12
th in the 1000-meter run in 2:59.26.
Dominique Valentine also had a good showing, taking 13
th overall in the 500 meters in 1:17.74.
Day two of the Atlantic 10 Championship begins at 9:00 AM.
