Complete List for the ACWPC
 
(February 19, 2019) - The Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches has announced the men's All-Academic Awards for the 2018 season, honoring 11 Fordham student-athletes with at least a 3.2 GPA or higher.  The Rams also garnered the team award from the ACWPC, ranking in 12
th nationally.
 
To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete's head coach must be a member of the ACWPC, while the athlete must attain a grade point average in excess of 3.20. Divided into three teams based on cumulative grade point average (GPA), 111 overall athletes garnered Outstanding status (4.00-3.71), 163 Superior (3.70-3.41) and 121 Excellent (3.40-3.20) recognition from 46 teams.

Fordham's 
Phillip Wang was the lone student-athlete to earn "Outstanding" status, while 
Joseph Agabs, 
Ian Watson, 
Bailey O'Mara, 
August Weyandt, and 
Cole Donnelly garnered "Superior" status.  Five others, 
Yuki Saito, 
Will Smoot, 
Sam Wheeler, 
Nikolai Kapetan, and 
Gordon Rowland, earned "Excellent" status.
 
For Smoot, it is his fourth time being honored by the ACWPC, while being the third time for Agabs, Saito, Watson, and Donnelly.  It is the second honor for the trio of Wheeler, Wang, and Weyandt, as well as the first time for O'Mara, Rowland, and Kapetan.
 
Further, a total of 26 schools posted Team Honors for posting GPAs over 3.0.  Salem University (3.74) leads the way for the fourth time in as many years, with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (3.73), Brown University (3.56), the California Institute of Technology (3.55), Wagner College (3.55), Harvard University (3.38), St. Francis College Brooklyn (3.38), Johns Hopkins University (3.37), Stanford University (3.35), Chapman University (3.28), Iona College (3.27), and Fordham University (3.25) rounding out the top 12 teams.
