Melissa Inouye and the Fordham softball program has released the complete schedule for the upcoming 2020 season in which the Rams will try to make it eight consecutive Atlantic 10 championships. The schedule includes preseason trips to Houston, Fresno, Fort Myers, Durham, and Charleston, the home opener coinciding with the start of league play, and a total of 14 home contests before the A-10 Tournament in early May in St. Louis. All times below are Eastern.

"We're very excited for the upcoming 2020 season as we continue to put together a strong national schedule, playing teams from all over the country." Inouye said, "We look forward to traveling to some new places and competing against some top teams from many conferences. We feel that our preseason tournament schedule will definitely help us prepare for conference play and that begins opening weekend at Houston who was a regional finalist team last season."

The Rams will play three NCAA Regional participants in Houston, Southern Illinois, and Harvard, three conference regular season champions in UMass-Lowell, UNC Greensboro, and St. John's, and four Power 5 opponents in California, Michigan State, Duke, and Rutgers.

Fordham will begin play in Houston on Friday, February 7, against Valparaiso and UMass-Lowell at 11:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. They'll play Valparaiso again on Saturday at 3 p.m. and the Cougars that night at 8 p.m. before finishing with Northwestern State that Sunday at 12:30 p.m. The following weekend the Rams will play California, Cal Poly, Fresno State twice, and Saint Mary's in Fresno, then Southern Illinois, Florida Gulf Coast, Harvard, UMass-Lowell, and Michigan State down in Fort Myers.

After a week off, the Rams will return to action with a tournament hosted by Duke beginning on March 6. Fordham will play Kent State and the Blue Devils that day, Howard the following day, and a doubleheader against Lafayette on Sunday. The final preseason tournament will be held at the College of Charleston, who the Rams will play twice, along with UNC Greensboro over the course of three days. The Rams will stay down south for a doubleheader on Tuesday, March 17, against Charleston Southern before returning home to open up play at Bahoshy Field.

The Rams will begin their home and league schedule with a three-game series against Massachusetts on Saturday and Sunday, March 21-22, with both days beginning at noon. Fordham will then welcome Iona for a one-off contest at 3 p.m. on March 25 before heading up to Rhode Island for a three-game set that weekend. St. Bonaventure will come to the Bronx for a midweek doubleheader on Wednesday April 1, beginning at noon, and Fordham will host last year's A-10 co-champions, George Washington, for three games on April 4-5. The Rams will then host Rutgers on Tuesday, April 7, at 3 p.m.

The team will head to the road for eight straight games over the next three weeks, first at Saint Louis for three games on Friday and Saturday of Easter weekend, April 10-11, with both days beginning at 1 p.m. The Rams will play at Hofstra on April 15, head to Saint Joseph's for three games that weekend, and return to play at St. John's on April 22.

The final home games of the season will be a three-game series against George Mason on April 25-26 and a one-off against Stony Brook on April 28. The Rams will wrap up the regular season on May 2-3 at La Salle before heading to St. Louis for the postseason on May 6-9.

Fordham is coming off a seventh consecutive Atlantic 10 championship and ninth NCAA Regional appearance. The Rams finished with a 29-26 record, 16-6 in Atlantic 10 play for a sixth regular season crown, and went to the Washington Regional where they suffered slim losses to the second-ranked Huskies and Seattle by a combined three runs. Madie Aughinbaugh earned A-10 Pitcher of the Year honors and Coach Inouye was selected as the Coach of the Year. Aughinbaugh went on to win her second straight Most Outstanding Player award, as well, and four others earned All-Conference honors, as well, including sophomores
Makenzie McGrath and
Sarah Taffet with the All-Rookie team.
