Annapolis, Md. – (November 9, 2019) – The Fordham squash team continued its busy weekend of play at the Navy Round Robin on Saturday with three matches in Annapolis, Maryland.
The day started off on the wrong foot, as the Rams fell to Haverford by an 8-1 count.
The lone point for the Rams came from
Justin Deckoff, as he defeated Nathan Wang in three games at seventh position, 11-7, 11-5, and 11-7.
Fordham then bounced back with consecutive wins over Boston University (9-0) and Lehigh (7-2).
Against Boston University, Fordham won seven of the eight matches in three games, with the final win in four. The Terriers only had eight players so the final point was defaulted to the Rams.
Deckoff was lone winner to get extended to four games, eventually taking down BK Kim at sixth position, 11-5, 11-8, 5-11, and 11-8. William Douglas (1

In the final match with Lehigh, the teams split the top four matches at two apiece, but the Rams rallied to win at the fifth through ninth positions to take the win.
Douglass earned his second win of the day at first position over Sam Ghorashi, 11-1, 11-3, and 11-5, while Fitzgerald took his third slot match from Colin Hussey, 11-5, 11-6, and 11-5. Deckoff completed a perfect 3-0 day by defeating Luke Saviano at seventh position, 11-2, 11-9, and 11-5, with
Tommy White (5
th), Panichello (8
th), and Schumacher (9
th) also posting three game wins. Bennett rounded out the match by defeating Sammy Schutz in four games, 11-6, 12-10, 8-11, and 11-4.
Fordham's play at the Navy Round Robin concludes on Sunday with a 10:00 AM match with Georgetown.
