Bronx, N.Y. - Fordham junior kicker
Andrew Mevis was named Patriot League Special Teams Player of the Week it was announced today. It is the second weekly honor of the season for Mevis.

In a 38-34 Patriot League loss at Lafayette on Saturday, Mevis accounted for ten of the 34 Fordham points with two field goals and four extra points. He connected on an 18-yarder in the second quarter and then booted a 34-yard field goal with 3:36 remaining that gave the Rams a 34-31 lead.

Mevis also punted four times for 169 yards (42.2 yards/punt) with two landing inside the 20, and kicked off seven times with six touchbacks.

On the year, Mevis has made 12 of his 16 field goals and 23 of his 25 PATs. He leads Patriot League in field goals/game (1.33), ranking 18th in the NCAA FCS, and he is averaging 41.0 yards/punt and 61.7 yards/kickoff, with 38 touchbacks on 49 kicks.

The Rams return to action on Saturday, November 9, as they travel to Hamilton, N.Y., to face the Colgate University Raiders in a Patriot League game in Andy Kerr Stadium at 1:00 p.m.
