Walnut, Calif. – (October 3, 2019) – The Fordham water polo team started their annual west coast trip on Thursday with a pair of victories before starting play at the Gary Troyer Invitational on Friday.
With the wins, Fordham is now 12-3 on the season.
The Rams opened Thursday with a solid 13-8 win over Redlands.
Leading 4-1 after the first quarter, the Rams blew the game open with a five-goal second quarter to take a 9-4 lead.
Redlands got back within three, 11-8, after the third quarter, but the Rams anchored down on defense in the fourth quarter, as the Rams did not allow a goal in the final frame, winning by a 13-8 margin.

For Fordham,
Jake Miller-Tolt led the Rams with six goals, five steals, and two assists, while
Dimitris Koukias and
Tristen Knoflick each scored twice.
Phillip Wang,
Oscar Nomura, and
Quinn Wagner also added tallies for the Rams. In net,
Bailey O'Mara made eight saves to go with two steals and an assist.
In match two, Fordham pulled away late from Mt. San Antonio for a 12-6 win.
The Rams played steadily, netting three goals in the first, three in the second, and four in the third to build up a 10-6. Once again, the Rams were solid on the back end, not allowing a goal in the final period, winning by a count of 12-6.
For the Rams, Miller-Tolt had three goals and three exclusions drawn, while
Joseph Agabs added three goals. The remaining goals came from Koukias, T. Knoflick, Wang, Nomura,
Sebastian Zapatero, and
Skyler Knoflick. In net, O'Mara finished with 11 saves over three quarters, while Aldo Ordoñez had one save in the final quarter.
The Rams will now start action in the Gary Troyer Invitational on Friday with two matches. Fordham plays #16 Cal Baptist at 4:40 PM, while taking on Occidental at 8:40 PM.
