Boston, Mass. – (January 25, 2019) – The Fordham track & field team is up on Boston this weekend for the John Thomas Terrier Classic, hosted at the BU Track & Tennis Center. The Fordham women kicked off action on Friday competing in eight events.
The Rams posted a very successful day, winning one event, while posting four ECAC qualifying times and six season-best marks.
The day began with
Helen Connolly in the 400 meter dash, as she ran a personal-best time of 1:02.04, finishing 93
rd overall.
Next came the 500 meter run, which saw a pair of ECAC qualifying times for Fordham.
Aidan Moroz had the first of those times, finishing seventh overall in a season-best time of 1:14.93, while
Sarinnagh Budris also qualified for the ECAC Championship, placing tenth in 1:15.95.
Dominique Valentine and
Dana Beggins also competed in the 500 meter run, finishing 12
th (1:16.49) and 20
th (1:18.02) overall, respectively.
Kate McCormack
The next event for the Rams was the 1,000 meter run, where
Kate McCormack recorded another ECAC qualifier, as she finished 13
th overall in a season-best time of 2:55.66. She was followed in by
Laurel Fisher in 16
th place (2:56.57) and
Sydney Snow in 17
th (256.90).
Kathryn Kelly was the next Fordham competitor in the 200 meter dash, taking eighth in the event in her best time of the season in 25.03 seconds.
The mile run came next with
Angelina Grebe recording a season-best time of 5:04.34, which was good for 28
th overall.
The first of two Fordham relays followed, as the Rams' 4x400 relay took ninth overall in a season-best time of 3:54.31.
The last individual event Fordham competed in was the 3000 meter run, with
Katarzyna Krzyzanowski finishing 36
th in a season-best time of 10:07.81 and
Abigail Taylor in 49
th in 10:21.70.
Overall, the last event for the Rams was their best, as the 4x800 relay team won the event in an ECAC qualifying time of 9:13.34.
The Terrier Classic will conclude on Saturday with the men's event taking center stage, as well as the final women's event, the distance medley relay.
