HERO Sports Release

Bronx, N.Y. - Fordham University freshman linebacker Ryan Greenhagen (Sparta, N.J./Pope John XXIII) was named 2018 HERO Sports First Team Freshman All-American it was announced today. He is one of three Patriot League student-athlete named to the first team.
 
Greenhagen was fourth on the 2018 Ram squad with 65 total tackles, 45 solo, including 15.0 for loss and a team-high 8.0 sacks. He was fourth in the Patriot League and 33rd in the NCAA FCS in sacks/game (0.73) while also ranking sixth in the league and 30th in the nation in tackles for loss/game (1.4).
 
Greenhagen's 15.0 tackles for loss is a Fordham freshman record (tied for the seventh-best single season total in Fordham history) while his 8.0 sacks is also a Fordham rookie mark and tied for fifth-best overall.
 
This marks the second straight year a Ram earned HERO Sports First Team Freshman All-American honors as Greenhagen joins sophomore linebacker Glenn Cunningham who received the honor last year.
