Austin Longi and senior defensive back
Bryce Petty were named to the 2018 Academic All-Patriot League team it was announced today.

It is the second academic honor of 2018 for Petty, who was named first team Google Cloud Academic All-District® last week. He will now advance to the national ballot for Google Cloud Academic All-America® honors.

Longi, an Economics major who was named first team All-Patriot League yesterday, caught 59 passes for 697 yards and four touchdowns, all team bests. He led the Patriot League in receptions/game (5.5) and was second in receiving yards/game (65.1). Longi had four 100-yard receiving days in 2018, including a ten-catch, 137-yard, two-touchdown game versus Bryant.

Over his career, Longi has 192 receptions for 2,431 yards and 19 touchdowns. He graduates third on the Fordham career list for receptions, fifth in receiving yards, and tied for fifth in career receiving touchdowns.

Petty, an Applied Accounting and Finance major, appeared in all eleven games for the Rams this year at free safety, starting ten. He was sixth on the team with 49 total tackles, 31 solo, including 1.5 for loss, and had four pass break ups. His best game came against Bryant when he made a career-high nine tackles, six solo, and broke up two passes.

Over his career, Petty recorded 116 total tackles, 61 solo, and he had seven pass breakups.

To be eligible for the Scholar-Athlete of the Year award and Academic All-Patriot League Team, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average and be a starter or key player in his/her sport. Freshmen or students in their first academic year at their school are not eligible for the honor.
