Bryce Petty was named first team Google Cloud Academic All-District® it was announced today. He will now advance to the national ballot for Google Cloud Academic All-America® honors.
Petty, an Applied Accounting and Finance major with a 3.61 overall GPA, has appeared in all ten games for the Rams this year at free safety, starting nine. He is sixth on the team with 48 total tackles, 30 solo, including 1.5 for loss, and also has four pass break ups. His best game came against Bryant when he made a career-high nine tackles, six solo, and broke up two passes.
To be eligible for Google Cloud Academic All-District® honors, a student-athlete must have a 3.30 GPA or better and appear in at least 50 percent of the teams' games.
The Academic All-District® teams are divided into eight geographic districts across the United States and Canada. The Google Cloud Academic All-America® separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and College Division. The College Division includes all NAIA, Canadian and two-year schools.
