Bronx, N.Y. – Fordham sophomore kicker
Andrew Mevis was named Patriot League Special Teams Player of the Week it was announced today. It is the third weekly honor for the Warsaw, Ind., native.

In a 17-13 Patriot League loss at Holy Cross last Saturday, Mevis connected on a pair of field goals, including a 54-yarder on the final play of the first half to give Fordham a 10-0 lead. The 54-yard field goal is one yard shy of the Patriot League and school record set by Patrick Murray in 2012.

Mevis' other field goal was a 37-yarder which pulled the Rams within four, 17-13, with 2:15 remaining.

Mevis also punted seven times for 248 yards, with two punts landing inside the Holy Cross 20.

On the season, Mevis had connected on five of his seven field goal attempts and 15 of his 198 PATs. He is also averaging 41.7 yards/punt, with a long of 70 yards, and 62.1 yards/kickoff. Mevis has 14 punts for 50 yards or more and has landed 24 of his 74 punts inside the opponent's 20.

The Rams return to action on Saturday as they close out the season with a trip to Lewisburg, Pa., to face the Bucknell University Bison for a Patriot League matchup in Christy Mathewson Memorial Stadium at 12:00 p.m.
