Philadelphia, Pa. - Last Saturday, October 27, the Fordham women's crew competed in its final regatta of the fall season, the Head of the Schuylkill on the Schuylkill in Philadelphia. The women raced four crews, a frosh/ novice 8+, two club championship 8+s, and a championship 8+. For the Rams, it was another weekend of racing in challenging conditions with rain and high winds, but the rowers persevered and posted some strong finishes.
The women's frosh / Novice 8+ led off the morning with a tenth place finish in their 29-crew event. They completed the course in a time of 16:02.519, a full 12 seconds in front of 11th place Delaware and only 2 seconds behind the Temple B crew.

The A and B crews racing in the club championship 8+ event came next in the schedule. The Fordham A crew finished in a time of 14:29.991, placing ninth. They came in well in front of conference competitors St. Joseph's, Duquesne, and La Salle. The B crew finished with a time of 15:43.553, earning 42nd place in the field of 50 crews.

The first varsity 8+ crew closed out the day competing in the championship 8+ event. Fordham finished 13th with a time of 14:20.469. The Rams placed immediately in front of Delaware, and Saint Joseph's. They also defeated conference competitor Duquesne by a large, 20-second margin.

The Rams will continue training during the offseason to prepare for spring racing. Their regular season practices will resume with their winter training trip to Miami Beach, FL on January 5.
