Four Softball Student-Athletes Earn NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete Honors

Rams Have Third-Best Team GPA Among Atlantic 10 Schools

Louisville, Ky. – The National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) has announced 6,280 softball players across its seven membership divisions have earned All-America Scholar-Athlete honors for the 2017-18 academic year. The Fordham softball team had four representatives: Kelly Bright, Brianna Pinto, Lauren Quense and Maria Trivelpiece.

NCAA Division III led the way with 1,600 student-athletes earning a 3.5 grade-point average or higher. Behind them were 1,311 in NCAA Division I, 1,026 in Division II, 743 and 589 in high school and high school unweighted, respectively, 553 recipients among two-year colleges and 456 in the NAIA ranks.

Additionally, the Rams were third among A-10 schools with an 88th-place finish on the NCAA Division I team GPA list (3.296) for 2017-18.
