Shannon Haviland named Director of Athletic Compliance at Fordham

Former Bucknell NCAA compliance and student services coordinator joins Rams

Bronx, N.Y. -  Shannon Haviland, former NCAA compliance and student services coordinator at Bucknell University, was named Director of Athletic Compliance at Fordham University it was announced today.
 
In her position, Haviland will assist the Assistant Athletic Director of Compliance in all aspects of NCAA compliance including overseeing roster management and act as database administrator for ARMS and CAi was well as administering NCAA and institutional forms for student-athletes and staff. She will also monitor student-athlete employment and outside competition and oversee initial eligibility and Eligibility Center accounts and assist with preparation and writing of NCAA, Atlantic 10, and Patriot League reports and waivers.
 
Haviland arrives at Fordham after serving as the NCAA compliance and student services coordinator at Bucknell University since February of 2018. She worked closely with the Associate AD for compliance and student services in managing Bucknell's compliance and rules education program for coaches, student-athletes, departmental staff, boosters and university offices. The office also coordinated and monitored the certification of student-athletes' eligibility and financial aid, and they also oversee the area of student-athlete services. 
 
Prior to her stay at Bucknell, Haviland served as an athletic compliance intern at Temple University in 2017-2018. Among her duties was to develop a comprehensive guide informing student-athletes of NCAA regulations concerning extra benefits, gambling, academic fraud, and sport agent contract risks. While at Temple, Haviland also worked as a student-athlete academic monitor and as an assistant equipment manager. 
 
In 2016, Haviland interned at Villanova in the area of athletics business and student services. 
 
Haviland received both her bachelor of arts (sport and recreation management) and master's (higher education) degrees from Temple. She is a member of Women Leaders in College Sports, the Bethesda Project and the National Association for Athletic Compliance (NAAC).
