Philadelphia, Pa. – (October 13, 2018) – Behind a seven-goal performance by
Jake Miller-Tolt, the Fordham water polo team earned its first conference win of the season on Saturday, posting an 18-9 win at La Salle in Philadelphia.
With the win, Fordham improved to 7-12 overall, 1-4 in the MAWPC.
Fordham came out on fire with a 6-2 lead after the first quarter, scoring the final three goals of the quarter. Another three goals had the Rams up 9-4 at halftime, but Fordham put the game away with six in the third and three more in the fourth for the 18-9 win.
For the Rams, Miller-Tolt had seven goals to go with five steals and an assist, while
Dimitris Koukias had three goals.
Phillip Wang,
Ian Watson, and
George Maltby each added two tallies with
Gordon Rowland and
Cole Donnelly having the final two markers.
In net,
Bailey O'Mara made six saves over the first three quarters, while
Patrick Coffey had three saves in the final quarter.
The Fordham water polo team will next be in action on Wednesday, October 17
th, when the Rams host Wagner for a 7:30 PM start.
