Bronx, N.Y. – (January 27, 2018) – The Fordham squash team wrapped up the home portion of their schedule on Saturday, splitting a pair of matches, as the Rams defeated Bryant, 9-0, while falling to Bucknell, 5-4.
Fordham had little trouble in its early match against Bryant, topping the Bulldogs, 9-0. All nine matches were won by Fordham in three games, led by
Tommy White, who gave up only three points in an 11-1, 11-0, 11-2 fifth position win over Rich Appel.
Joseph Hughes also had a fairly dominant performance, giving up only four points in an 11-2, 11-0, 11-2 sixth slot win over Matt Lawson. It was Hughes' ninth straight win this season.
Justin Deckoff also won his ninth straight match at the #7 slot over Utlej Tadisetty (11-2, 11-5, 11-3).
Will Pantle continued his winning ways by taking down Nish Wadhwa, 11-6, 11-0, 11-0, at the third position for his 11
th consecutive victory.
Griffin Fitzgerald also reached double figures for consecutive wins for the Rams on Saturday, topping Michael Gough, 11-3, 1-6, and 11-5 at the fourth position.

Other winners against Bryant included
Peter Yuen (#1 – 11-4, 11-4, 11-2),
John Lennon (#2 – 11-2, 11-6, 11-2),
Will Beatrez (#8 – 11-3, 11-2, 11-8), and
Justin Esposito (#9 – 11-2, 11-6, 11-1).
In the second match of the day, Bucknell handed Fordham its first home loss of the season, defeating the Rams 5-4.
Fordham earned three-game sweeps at the #1 and #3 position, as Yuen defeated Bucknell's Henry Charman, 11-5, 11-5, 12-10, while Pantle topped Matt Myers, 11-6, 11-8, and 11-5.
The Rams then got a four-game win by White at the #5 slot (11-9, 9-11, 11-7, 11-8), with Fitzgerald taking a five-game match at the fifth position over Sam Klaber, 11-8, 11-6, 9-11, 8-11, and 12-10.
The deciding match came at the second slot, where Charles Greenwood outlasted Lennon in five games, 6-11, 11-6, 11-13, 11-8, and 11-2.
The Fordham squash team will next be in action at the Northeastern Round Robin, February 9-11, in Boston, Massachusetts. The Rams will have matches against Northeastern, Boston College, Brandeis, and Boston University.
