Bridgeport, Pa. – The first player of the week awards from the CWPA's Mid-Atlantic Water Polo Conference (MAWPC) were released on Wednesday with Fordham attacker
Massimiliano Mirarchi (Rome, Italy) being selected as the league's Offensive Player of the Week. It is his first award with the Rams.
Mirarchi had an outstanding first weekend with the Rams after transferring from Whittier College. He helped the Rams to a 3-1 record at the Navy Invitational, as he netted 16 goals, two assists, and three steals over the four-game weekend. Four of his 16 goals came with the man-advantage and two were penalty shot goals.
He scored three goals against La Salle, while netting four against #11 Princeton. He capped day one with a match-high six goals on 10 shots in a win over Gannon, while scoring three more times against Washington & Jefferson.
Mirarchi and the rest of the Fordham water polo team will next be in action on Saturday, September 9
th, at the Princeton Invitational. The Rams face Santa Clara at 5:30 PM, followed by Sunday, September 10
th games against #14 Brown at 7:30 AM and Chapman at 11:15 AM. All three games will be streamed on the Ivy League Network (PPV).
