Assistant Coach Lisa Ginder Awarded Jean Freeman Scholarship from CSCAA

Ginder is One of Six Assistant Coaches to Earn Honor

Bronx, N.Y. - The College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) announced the recipients of the 2017 Jean Freeman Scholarship on Tuesday and among them is Fordham assistant coach Lisa Ginder.
 
She joined Morgan Cooper of Smith College, Jerry Cummiskey of Bryant University, David Dow of Williams College, Rebecca Weiland of St. Cloud State University, and Paulina Ziolek of the University of Texas.
 
The Jean Freeman Scholarship is given annually to six assistant coaches whose exceptional contributions have brought recognition to their college or university, and whose leadership, integrity, honesty, competitive attitude and personal graciousness epitomizes those characteristics reflected by Jean Freeman, former coach at the University of Minnesota.
 
The scholarship will provide each of the six selected assistant coaches with the convention fee, transportation and lodging to the annual CSCAA Convention and Clinic as well as the CSCAA Coach Academy.

Recipients were selected by a committee comprised of members of The Summit, The Summit for Empowering Women in Swimming, of which Freeman was a founding member. The members of the selection committee are Carol Capitani, University of Texas; Mojo Isaac, Skyline High School; Anne Goodman James, Colorado College; Stefanie Kerska, Ann Arbor Pioneer (MI); Susan Teeter, Princeton University and Jill Sterkel of the University of Texas.
 
Ginder just completed her first season as an assistant coach at Fordham University, where the swimming & diving teams both finished fourth at this year's Atlantic 10 Championship.  The Rams earned seven All-Atlantic 10 honors and set 13 school records.
