Christian Taylor Named to Men’s Team, while Ainhoa Martin Selected to Women’s Team

Washington, D.C. – (March 4, 2025) – The Atlantic 10 Conference announced the 2024-25 Academic All-Conference for swimming & diving on Tuesday.  For the fourth consecutive year, the Fordham Rams were represented on both the men's and women's team, as Christian Taylor (Sydney, Australia) earned his first Academic All-Conference selection, while Ainhoa Martin (Ursurbil, Spain) received the honor for the second straight year.

A Business Administration major with concentrations in Marketing and Information Systems and a three-year member of the Atlantic 10 Commissioner's Honor Roll, Martin took home three individual medals at the 2025 Atlantic 10 Championship, as well as one relay medal.  She won the 400 individual medley for the second straight season in 4:13.40, as well as the 200 breaststroke event in 2:11.55 for First Team All-Atlantic 10 honors.  Both were NCAA "B" cut times.  She also picked up a silver medal and Second Team All-Atlantic 10 accolades in the 200 individual medley, as well as a bronze as a part of the 800 freestyle relay, which set a school record in 7:17.59.  Martin ended her Fordham career as a six-time individual champion, tying Courtney Collyer (2009-12) for the most overall individual gold medals at the Atlantic 10 Championship by a Ram.

Taylor, an Economics major and two-year member of the Atlantic 10 Commissioner's Honor Roll, had his most successful Atlantic 10 Championship as an individual, medaling twice, while also picking up a relay medal.  He finished third in both the 50 freestyle (19.90) and 100 backstroke (47.24), receiving the bronze medal in both events.  He also set the school record in the 100 backstroke, breaking his own record of 47.96 seconds in 2023.  Additionally, he scored fifth in the 100 freestyle event with a season- and personal-best time of 44.11 seconds.  On top of his individual efforts, Taylor received his third bronze medal as a part of the 200 freestyle relay.
