Cambridge, Mass. – The Fordham squash team will play for the Serues Cup title at the CSA Team Championship, as the Rams defeated Northeastern, 6-3, in the semifinals on Saturday at Harvard University.
The Rams will face Richmond in the final, as the Spiders topped Duke by a 6-3 score on Saturday.
Five of Fordham's six wins came in three-game matches. The Rams' top player
Peter Yuen defeated Northeastern's Evan Jacobsen to start things off by scores of 11-6, 11-7, and 11-9, while
Will Pantle topped Will Greaves-Tunnell at the #4 spot, 11-3, 11-6, and 11-2.
Jimmy Shinnick continued the Rams' winning ways in the fifth position with an 11-1, 11-9, and 11-5 victory over Kalil Menezes with
Joseph Hughes taking out Karan Raja at the #6 slot in straight games, 11-4, 11-6, and 11-3.
The final straight games win was by Fordham's
Sahil Bahri at the #7 slot, defeating Vicente Marquina, 11-5, 12-10, and 11-6.
The only victory that went longer than three games was at the #9 position, where
Will Beatrez won in four games over Akhil Bansal, 11-9, 11-9, 7-11, and 11-3.
The Serues Cup final between Fordham and Richmond will take place at 11:15 AM on Sunday at Harvard University.
