Cambridge, Mass. – Behind five three-game sweeps, the Fordham squash team opened play at the CSA Team Championship with a 9-0 victory over Johns Hopkins in the Serues Cup Division. It is Fordham's first opening win at the CSA Team Championship since 2009.
The win improves Fordham's record to 9-8 on the season.
The Rams took care of business quickly as five of the nine matches were 3-0 wins, starting with
John Lennon at the #3 position, topping Mick Lim, 11-8, 11-1, 11-8, while
Will Pantle defeated Preston Coffin, 11-2, 11-0, 11-4, at the #4 slot.

Joseph Hughes topped Mike Trisch at the sixth spot, 11-7, 15-13, and 11-9 for Fordham's third win, followed by
Sahil Bahri getting by Eli Ross, 12-10, 11-8, and 11-7, at the #7 position.
Peter Vergara was the final straight game winner at the eighth slot, winning 11-7, 11-5, and 15-13 over Jonathan Kim.
Fordham then completed the 9-0 win with victories by #1 player

Bruce Czachor (#2),
Jimmy Shinnick (#5) and
Justin Esposito (#9).
The Rams now move on to face Northeastern in the Sereus Cup semifinals at 6:00 PM on Saturday at Harvard.
