Bronx, N.Y. – The Fordham squash team wrapped up the home portion of its 2016-17 on Saturday, splitting a pair of matches at the Lombardi Center Squash Courts.
With the split, Fordham moves to 4-7 on the year.
In the opening match of the day, Fordham fell to Bucknell by a 6-3 final score.
The Rams recorded wins in three of the top four matches, led by
Peter Yuen, who defeated Bucknell's Henry Kelly in four games at the #1 position, 11-3, 11-3, 6-11, and 13-11. Fordham's #2 player,
Bruce Czachor, followed with a four-game win over Nick Desrosier by scores of 11-7, 11-7, 0-11, and 11-7.
Will Pantle made it three wins in the first four slots for the Rams, taking down Jack Buendia in the #4 position in three games, 11-6, 11-8, and 11-9.
However the Rams could not find that same winning magic in the bottom half of the lineup, as the Bison swept the bottom five matches to secure the team victory.
In match two of the day, Fordham pulled out a 6-3 win over Bard College.

The Rams continued their success at the top of the lineup, winning five of the top six match-ups. Yuen, Czachor, and Pantle each won their second match of the afternoon, while
Jimmy Shinnick and
Joseph Hughes added to the Fordham win total.
Yuen defeated Rhys Nordstrom at the #1 position, 11-9, 11-6, and 11-0 with Czachor topping Julian Dime at the second spot, 13-11, 11-3, and 11-9. Pantle also posted a three-game victory at the fourth slot, defeating Abe Etkin, 11-9, 11-7, and 11-8.
Shinnick took down Vik Joshi in the #5 position in three games (12-10, 12-10, 11-7), while Hughes ousted Aman Kurien in four games at the sixth slot, 4-11, 11-2, 14-12, and 11-3.
Sahil Bahri rounded out the Fordham win with a victory over Artun Ak in the ninth slot, 11-4, 11-3, and 11-8.
The Fordham squash team will next be in action on January 28-29, as they take part in the Johns Hopkins Round Robin in Maryland.
